Wellington, NSW

 Monday 21 September

Today we drove the short distance to Wellington, just south of Dubbo. After a visit to the very good Visitor Information Centre, we headed up to Mt Arthur Reserve for a walk. The sun was out and it was a really lovely morning.

After a short climb, we were rewarded with beautiful views

Lots of this thistle-type plant around

Moss and Lichen on the rocks

A couple of tricky sections, but on the whole an easy walk

This Currawong was after some scraps while we lunched.
I offered up a piece of crust and after securing it in his beak, off he went.
He must have a nest nearby, as he was soon back asking for more

We returned to Dubbo after lunch, and went to see Old Dubbo Gaol, which is a very interesting place to visit.

Sadly, the rain came in again in the evening which meant we were unable to go on our tour to the Dubbo Observatory. Such a pity as Jupiter and Saturn are giving us a really good show at the moment. Instead, we were entertained at dinner at Club Dubbo with an excellent light show! The rain turned into a massive electrical storm!

An interesting last night of our tour.
